27th Annual Carmel Art Festival


All official Festival events will be held
in Devendorf Park in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Admission is FREE.
Information on individual Gallery Receptions & Demonstrations throughout Carmel-by-the-Sea can be seen in our official FREE Carmel Art Festival Program during the event.

No official functions.

Watch our juried plein air artists paint their competition paintings throughout the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur. See the linkable map on this website where you are most likely to see them.



Event Schedule Friday, May 15, 2020
2 - 5 PM - Portion of Devendorf Park/Exhibition area off limits to all but CAF volunteers. During this time, artists bring in their paintings and judging is taking place.

5 PM - Exhibition area opens/"Buy Now" starts. All exhibition paintings will be sold at a set price; no silent auction. Purchased paintings can be taken off walls after Awards Ceremony.

5-6:00 PM - "People's Choice" & "Artists Choice" judging by the crowd and artists respectively. Awards will be announced at the end of the Awards Ceremony.

6-6:30 PM - Awards Ceremony & Official Opening of the Carmel Art Festival. Purchased exhibition paintings can be taken off walls after Awards Ceremony.

6:30 - 9 PM - VIP Wine Event to thank our past art buyers.Be sure we have you on our contact list! To RSVP, email us at

  • Saturday, May 16:

    Art Sale at "Buy Now" prices all day. Both unsold exhibition paintings plus other paintings our 60 juried artists painted on the Monterey Peninsula this week. No silent auction.

  • Sculpture-in-the-Park exhibits by galleries in town.

  • Kids-Make-Art: 2PM - 4PM: Kids Make Art, all ages by Youth Arts Collective. FREE!

    2-Hour Quick Draw, followed by Viewing & Silent Auction
    New in 2020: ALL 60 juried artists are invited to participate:
  • 9:00AM - 11:00AM - See artists paint in close proximity of Carmel-by-the-Sea.
  • 11:00AM - 11:30AM - Viewing of these paintings in Devendorf Park
  • 11:30AM - Silent Auction in Devendorf Park of these paintings.
